Hi there, welcome to Mr History!
On this channel I'd like to answer the common and uncommon questions people have about history. You can find answers and solutions anywhere - but sometimes they're a little too tough or intimidating. I'd like to untangle the often troublesome topics and explain them all in crystalline clarity, maybe even with a joke or two.
I will be happy, as the channel grows, to answer requests for videos on anything (within reason) in history. There's so many good history channels on RUclips - but a lot - maybe even most of them focus on battles and war. Most of history, however, takes place off the battlefield and is every bit as interesting and crucial to understanding humanity and how we got to where we are, which hopefully informs us on where we are headed.

A menu of human beings. I didn't care what people say about the uncivilized nature of Chinese culture, it's wildly interesting.
There is no such thing called Western Sahara, it is legitimately a part of Morocco and we identify as moroccans, historically and geographically.

False information ↗️↗️↗️ Be careful where you take your information.
If you ever meet a person from the country above Greece, chances is he is uneducated, brainwashed and confused. Macedonia is Greek, the name is Greek and has meaning only in Greek.

Well done as usual. I'm belatedly enjoying your histories. I suspect Mr History has some Irish in him to appreciate all of the booze references.
Point of order -- England did not exist in Roman times. I can summarize English history right quick -- We came; We saw; We done goofed .

ALEX-( the one that repels) -ANDROS (MAN), so ALEXANDER ( ALEXANDROS IN GREEK) MEANS THE ONE THAT REPELS-PROTECT FROM OTHER MAN AND HAS A MEANING ONLY IN GREEK LANGUGAE, NOT IN ANY OTHER LANGUAGE OR DIALECT. THAT IS THE END OF THE WHOLE STORY.THE SAME PROTHEMA IS WITH OTHER, ONLY GREEK WORDS , SUCH AS ALEXSFERO, (BULLET REPELER), ALEXKERAVNO( LIGHTNING CONDUCTOR-THUNDER REPELER).SAME WITH HIS FATHER FILIP II . GREEK NAME PROTHEMA FIL( FRIEND) -IPPOS(HORSE) WHICH IN GREEK MEANS THE ONE THAT IS THE FRIEND OF HORSES( FILIPPOS), SAME WITH GREEK WORD FILANTROPY ( FIL =FRIEND, ANTROPY =PEOPLE, FILANTROPY FRIEND OF PEOPLE...ALL GREEK ALL GENUINE, NOT SLAVIC....
This is brilliant. I laughed out loud at the snippets of humour like Dobrogea's interjections and Michael the Brave's hat

2:41 this is a mistake i see in azerbaijani history videos as an azeri myself, safavid empire is azerbaijani, its capital was tabriz which is a south azerbaijani city, the creator and first emperor of the country was also ethnically azerbaijani. in his childhood he was forced to stay in shirvan till the qaraqoyuns and aghqoyuns would weaken, which he went to tabriz and declared himself as the shah. please fix your mistake.

The Greeks record the F sound as ph...the D sound as nt..the B sound as mp..etc.. they have rules for reading and a bunch of diphthongs.. What does that prove..??? This means that this literacy is not Greek .. It is the literacy of a cultured nation that has been adapted for the Greeks..Greeks are not descendants of ancient gods, but illiterate Asians.

Certainly! Here's an article detailing the history of Iraq in thorough detail: --- **A Comprehensive Overview of Iraq's History** Iraq, a land steeped in rich history and cultural heritage, has witnessed the rise and fall of numerous civilizations throughout the ages. Situated in the heart of the ancient Fertile Crescent, its territory has been home to some of the earliest human settlements, making it a cradle of civilization. **Ancient Mesopotamia:** The history of Iraq traces back to the dawn of civilization with the advent of ancient Mesopotamia. The fertile land between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers gave birth to the Sumerian civilization around 4500 BCE. The Sumerians, known for their advanced irrigation systems, cuneiform writing, and monumental architecture, established city-states such as Ur, Uruk, and Babylon, laying the foundation for subsequent cultures. **Babylonian Empire:** By 1800 BCE, Babylon emerged as a dominant power in Mesopotamia under Hammurabi's rule, known for his famous legal code, the Code of Hammurabi. The Babylonian Empire reached its zenith during the reign of Nebuchadnezzar II, who constructed the Hanging Gardens of Babylon and expanded the empire's influence across the region. **Assyrian and Persian Empires:** Following the decline of Babylon, the Assyrian Empire rose to prominence, establishing its capital at Nineveh. Known for their military prowess and ruthless tactics, the Assyrians ruled over a vast territory stretching from Egypt to Persia. However, their empire eventually fell to the Neo-Babylonian Empire in 612 BCE. The Persian Empire, under the leadership of Cyrus the Great, conquered Babylon in 539 BCE, ushering in a new era of Persian rule over Mesopotamia. The Achaemenid dynasty, which succeeded Cyrus, further solidified Persian control and fostered cultural and economic development in the region. **Hellenistic and Parthian Periods:** With the conquests of Alexander the Great in the 4th century BCE, Iraq came under Greek influence during the Hellenistic period. Greek cities such as Seleucia and Alexandria flourished, blending Hellenic culture with local traditions. Following the fragmentation of Alexander's empire, Iraq became part of the Seleucid Empire, before falling under Parthian rule in the 3rd century BCE. The Parthians, of Iranian origin, governed Iraq for centuries, maintaining control over trade routes and engaging in conflicts with the Roman Empire. **Sassanian and Islamic Conquests:** In the 3rd century CE, the Sassanian Empire, a Persian dynasty, emerged as a dominant power in Iraq, establishing its capital at Ctesiphon. However, their rule was challenged by the expansion of the Islamic Caliphate in the 7th century. The Islamic conquest of Iraq, led by the Rashidun and Umayyad caliphs, brought about significant cultural and religious changes to the region. Baghdad, founded in 762 CE by the Abbasid caliph Al-Mansur, became a center of learning, commerce, and culture during the Islamic Golden Age. **Ottoman Rule and British Mandate:** In the 16th century, Iraq came under Ottoman rule, remaining part of the Ottoman Empire until the early 20th century. Following World War I, Iraq was placed under British mandate by the League of Nations, leading to the establishment of a monarchy under King Faisal I in 1921. **Modern Iraq:** Iraq gained independence from British rule in 1932, but political instability and tensions between its various ethnic and religious groups persisted. The rise of the Ba'ath Party and Saddam Hussein's authoritarian regime in the 20th century exacerbated internal conflicts and led to devastating wars, including the Iran-Iraq War (1980-1988) and the Gulf War (1990-1991). The 2003 invasion of Iraq by a coalition led by the United States resulted in the overthrow of Saddam Hussein's regime but plunged the country into years of sectarian violence, insurgency, and instability. Despite efforts to establish a democratic government, Iraq continues to grapple with political, social, and economic challenges, striving to rebuild and forge a path towards stability and prosperity. **Conclusion:** Iraq's history is a tapestry of civilizations, conquests, and cultural exchanges that have shaped its identity and influenced the course of world history. From the ancient Mesopotamians to the modern Iraqi state, the land has endured countless upheavals and transformations, leaving behind a legacy that continues to resonate to this day.
im from morocco
I live there😮😅
THE GREEKS NEVER WROTE ANYTHING ..Greek literacy is a historical forgery The Greeks say TO BIBLIO for a book and TO TETRADIO for a notebook. But these words have nothing to do with reading and writing.Byblos is just the name of the city. It is a city where writing depth was sold. Writing depth called BUKVA...From BUKVA come English word BOOK and German,s word BUCH...Other goods were sold there, as in every trading town. When the Greeks saw a bandage of several beech bark or a bandage of pressed papyrus, the Greeks realized that it could be obtained in the city of Byblos. That is how the Greeks recognize the book, but they cannot use it because they are illiterate Asians. The Greeks see the book and say "biblos". TO BIBLIO. The word BIBLE originated in the plural of several biblos. TA BIBLIA. TETRADIO(the Notebook) It is something square or rectangular in shape. The Greeks saw that the notebook was square and say TETRADIO as a tetrahedron but they could not use it because they were illiterate. These terms irrefutably prove it. Like when someone buy a watch in Salisbury. What time is it? Wait till I look in Salisbury !!! The Greek language and concepts related to reading and literacy irrefutably prove that the Greeks were illiterate people from Asia.upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c5/Phoenicia_map-en.svg

As a Serb, I can state some of the many untruths presented in this video. Slavs did not migrate to the Balkans, they are natives. The inhabitants of Bosnia and Herzegovina who converted to Islam served in the Turkish army and, together with the Turks, for centuries terrorized that part of the population that kept its original culture, traditions and identity. The Muslim leader Captain Gradaščević did not fight for an independent Bosnia, but for the privileged position of Muslims within the Ottoman Empire. He opposed, among other things, the granting of territorial independence to Serbia, as this would cut off the Muslims in Bosnia from the rest of the Ottoman Empire. In World War II, Croats and Muslims were the first to start killing Serbs in Bosnia and Herzegovina, committing genocide and changing the demographic picture of Bosnia and Herzegovina to such an extent that the Serbs were no longer the most numerous nation. Traditional Bosnians, i.e. Serbs, voted in the referendum to stay in Yugoslavia, but Muslims and Croats voted to leave Yugoslavia. Bosnians were outvoted in the referendum as a result of the genocide committed against them in World War II.
